The Idiot’s Guide To Everyday Life

Let it SNOW…..

Winter has officially set in here in Middle-America. We’ve had more than 6 inches of snow in the past 24 hours and it’s still coming down. School has been cancelled for the second day in a row, and most of the state offices were closed today as well. Forecasters and Highway Patrol Officers are urging anyone who can to stay home from work tomorrow. Luckily for me, when school is cancelled, I am off!

Life has been normal lately– I’ve been teaching, and when I haven’t been teaching I’ve been designing. I’ve got 3 new clients for design work: 2 for marketing and another for marketing and a website. She is a business woman from the Hispanic community here in OKC and wants to do a bilingual site. I told her I’ll write up the English site, she’ll have to translate everything for me for the Spanish, because I don’t speak much AT ALL!!!

The kids are finally well, as am I after last week’s bout with the cold bug, luckily it wasn’t pneumonia. I had my worries, and went to the ER when I couldn’t breathe, but they gave me a couple of breathing treatments and shot me full of anti-biotics and I felt a lot better by Sunday/Monday.

Thanksgiving was great with the family. We had 23 there this year, even Grandpa Vernon and Grandma Suzie from Los Angeles were in this year. They stayed a week and a half and are taking Granny back with them for a month. I’ll really miss her while she’s gone, but that is a whole other post.

My family is a bit dysfunctional, but I love them. I don’t know what I’d do without them right now. My kids and I are closer than ever it seems, and with the holidays here, it always feels like the time when families need each other the most.

I just hope that I get a decent paycheck next month so we can have a somewhat decent Christmas this year. I hate being broke!
